Another Cutting Board

Another Cutting Board

We have lots of cutting boards posted on Lumber Jocks so I thought I’d add one to the mix. A neighbor came over with a headboard he’d built. He wanted an oval cut in the center for a mirror. When we finally got it cut out there was this piece of Ash laying on the shop floor. I asked him where he wanted it and he said,” Keep it.” I got to looking at it this week and decided it needed to be doing something. Carleen has a little cutting board with this type of handle which she really likes. So, more from the scrap pile and we added some Walnut to the mix. I even used my Bead-Lock to hold it all together. It is really a meat or bread board. It is one sided because of the leather feet I glued to the bottom. They keep it in one place and keep it solid. The bottom had some issues and wouldn’t look very good if it was up. The board is sorta 18 inches long by 15 1/2 inches wide and 3/4 inch thick. The finish is Olive Oil. Made a fun afternoon. I think Mama likes it.
